What is in a Course?
Each course consists of four parts: material that summarizes the knowledge that you would have gained at trade school, Code lectures that examine 19 of the most frequently used Sections of the Canadian Electrical Code , a bank of practice questions, and access to me, your instructor.
What is Construction Electrician?
Many people know this as plain old ‘Electrician’. The Red Seal program has two Red Seal certifications for Canadian electricians: Construction and Industrial Electrician. The Construction Electrician designation is for those working in commercial and residential, while the Industrial designation is for those working in mines, factories, and the like. A great deal of content is shared between the two trades. Once an Electrician has completed one certification, I encourage them to seek opportunities to work in the other trade and eventually achieve that certification as well. In many jurisdictions, attending trade school is not mandatory when pursuing the second certification. I now offer an IP preparation course for Industrial Electrician for those wanting to continue their education and achieve both Red Seals. Check with your jurisdiction to determine your best path to success, as some jurisdictions do not support the Industrial Red Seal.
